The design included individually controlled and full image mapping of 48 TVs. The stacked TV screens created the performance backdrop. Blue multidirectional lasers highlighted Future throughout the performance.
NFL Kickoff Eve presented by Pepsi 2018
For football fans all over the country, the night before the NFL Kickoff is definitely worth celebrating. Fanatics had been waiting months for football to be back and Nimblist had the opportunity to produce an unforgettable private party featuring performers such as DJ Jazzy Jeff, LOCASH and Bebe Rexha.
Built in 1901, the 23rd Street Armory was our most historic venue thus far. We transformed this fortress-like structure in west Center City Philly that houses the First Troop Philadelphia City Calvary, which once acted as George Washington’s personal bodyguard in the Revolutionary War. Talk about an extraordinary venue!
We collaborated with our friends at the NFL for yet another year to kick off the football season. Nimblist was responsible for the production management, technical & production design and event decor was done by our talented decor producer Casey Cooper. BlueMedia worked their magic by branding the space for the corporate sponsor Pepsi and LightAction provided the lighting, audio and staging.
NFL Kickoff Concert 2018
It’s September so that means football is back! The NFL season kicked off with a concert and other local events hosted by the previous Super Bowl winner. This year it was hometown favorite the Philadelphia Eagles. Customized for each city, the concert site features a Kickoff Sponsorship Village with fan activations in addition to the concert itself. We integrate the performance stage into a variety of environments ranging from the stadium to iconic local sites. Multi-platinum singer/songwriter Shawn Mendes performed live before the game at Penn’s Landing.
This was the 17th consecutive Kickoff celebration and we’ve been involved for years with the concert series which is broadcast live and open to the public. Approximately 16,500 fans experience pre-game festivities and rallied around their hometown team as the season gets started. In addition to working on the concert our team also handled exclusive player and sponsor VIP experiences. The Kickoff Eve presented by Pepsi concert this year was at the 23rd street armory. DJ Jazzy Jeff, LOCASH and Bebe Rexha were the performers.
Lancaster Conservancy: Water Week 2017
Through their mutual passion for the preservation of our natural resources and environment, Lancaster County’s first Water Week was conceived along the banks of the Conestoga River in Lancaster County by friends Fritz Schroeder, director of urban greening with the Conservancy, and Nimblist’s co-founder Spike Brant. They set out a campaign to strengthen the sense of stewardship and celebrate the waterways of Lancaster County by educating and inspiring public action.
The eight day celebration which ran from June 3-10, was filled with free family events throughout the county. Events included a green infrastructure bike tour, informational paddle tour, river clean-up, public arts display, riparian buffer tree planting, a film series and panel discussion and a branded Water Week beer.
Our passionate team at Nimblist worked hard on the promotional planning of the event which included flyers, posters, coverage on local TV networks, media releases, website portals, social media campaigns and sponsorship opportunities. One of the main highlights of Water Week was a laser projection displayed onto a public building in downtown Lancaster which consisted of fun images and informational facts relating to water conservation.
Nimblist was proud to partner with the Lancaster Conservancy and talented teams at Tait Towers, Atomic and Stray Lighting for this successful event.
Lancaster Conservancy: Water Week 2017
When we have the chance to give where we live, we take to it with zeal! The Lancaster County Conservancy worked with us to develop a local festival focusing on clean water issues. This project allowed us to address challenges a typical rock show might not: how do we entertain and educate an audience? How do we turn set dressing, lighting, and design into concrete, measurable change for Lancaster County and the Conservancy? We developed a brand for non-profits and businesses to pool their resources under, guided by the environmental expertise of the Conservancy. We assisted with development efforts by creating marketing and PR pieces allowing the Conservancy to exceed sponsorship goals and build support for all the activities.
For the first week in June, Lancaster came to life with tours of our waterways, a film series, a branded beer, and more. Check out the video and one of the social media animations below.
Water Week’s first year was a wild success with sponsors from all parts of the county. As Water Week develops year by year, we’re excited to see how we can impact our community and how we can “use our powers for good.”
Robin Hood: 2018 Benefit
Working with the Robin Hood Foundation speaks directly to our Nimblist core value of giving back to the community making the world a better place. This year was particularly special as Robin Hood celebrated its 30th Anniversary. The annual Benefit focuses on the thousands of supporters and volunteers who work to fight poverty in New York.
This year we helped the Jacob Javits Convention Center transform into a New York City landscape with dancers, creative scenery including marquee style signs setting the tone for the evening. The nearly 4,000 guests to were greeted by a Times Square themed cocktail space to start the celebration. Oprah, Bill and Melinda Gates and Jennifer Lopez were just some of the invited guests and performers.
Our scope included executing the evening’s event providing technical production and oversight. In addition to the technical and lighting design, our skilled designers provided master drawings ensuring all elements fit and worked together seamlessly as well as handling responsibility for run of show, scripting and the production timeline. The crew included roughly 350 people including talent, staff, and production suppliers.
Lancaster Conservancy: Water Week 2018
Following the huge success of the first annual Lancaster Water Week, the 2018 event held on June 1st to 9th, brought in participants from all over the county to celebrate the importance of clean water which drives economic opportunity and growth benefiting our local economy and agriculture.
Some events and activities included bike rides, hikes, a canoe/kayak trip, a golf tournament, tours, a movie night, educational programs, tree planting, a trash pickup, a picnic, and a festival with food, art, and music.
Adding to the excitement of the 2017 laser light show projection, Nimblist wanted to make an even bigger impact with an installation that ran from day to night through the entire week. In the center of downtown Lancaster our team illuminated the Griest building in blue creating a unique water-like focal point. At the base of the building we placed a video kiosk which played clips and messages from water week, as well as a “Live Stream Stream” of the local waterways, in order to show people in the heart of the city that the beauty of the Conestoga is never far away.
Cher: Classic Cher
Cher stepped on to the concert stage opening her residency at the Park Theater at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The Park Theater was a newly opened venue boasting a huge stage and capacity ranging from 5,200 to 5,600 for the Cher engagement. Additional shows were at The Theater at MGM National Harbor outside Washington, DC.
The show features what fans would expect including a packed hit-list of singles, glamorous costume changes and archival footage spanning her career. We met up in Vegas with our strategic partner 4U2C providing the lighting design for both Vegas and National Harbor gigs. Numerous costume changes and set designs which had to fit in two different venues also provided opportunities for our highly skilled technical team to provide master drawings, technical drawings and renders ensuring nothing was missed.
Beastie Boys Book: Live & Direct Book Tour
This project took us back to our early days when we first worked with the Beastie Boys. We had a lot of fun working with the band from 2004-2009 so being part of the team to help launch their new book, The Beastie Boys Book: Live & Direct with Adam Horovitz and Michael Diamond, was an honor.
As the remaining members of the Beastie Boys prepared to release the autobiographical book detailing the history of the iconic hip-hop trio, Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz and Michael “Mike D” Diamond embarked on a brief book tour. Each show included excerpt readings, skits, and conversations between Mike D and Ad-Rock and a live score from DJ Mixmaster Mike.
With such an important story to tell and a unique approach to the format of the book tour, an equally special production design was crucial to support the show. The feature readings were complemented by props and two large screens to project images or create a setting. There was also an exhibit which fans could explore before the show featuring a collection of artifacts from the Beastie Boys’ history. Additionally, there was a Sonos room with a turntable and numerous vinyl records from artists that influenced the hip-hop trio.
Throughout both the book and the live show, the presence of the late Adam “MCA” Yauch was felt and celebrated as Mike D and Ad-Rock reflected on the talent and inspiration their bandmate brought not only to their music, but to their lives.
Project World Wide Global Leadership Summit 2016
The Global Leadership Summit was a keynote and general session presentation for all of the companies in the Project Worldwide umbrella held at the Cosmopolitan, Las Vegas on June 8th and 9th, 2016. Attendees came from all over the world to gain access to a wealth of knowledge and insight from world-class industry leaders.
Nimblist’s services included production and lighting design and development for the main stage and press event.
